I can remember it like it was yesterday. It’s Thursday, laundry day for sheets. My brother and I pulled them from our beds, sent them down the chute for washing and that evening, my job was to iron them before going to bed. It was 1965; no clothes dryer and “no-iron sheets” did not exist yet.
