For the eleventh year in a row, Toyota Motor Manufacturing, Georgetown Kentucky delivers a dynamic, information-and-inspiration packed program called In the Interest of Women: A Forum for the Women of Kentucky.
Each year, attendees are offerred opportunities to learn, to network, to share, and to take away wisdom, ideas, challenges and thought-provoking information which will inspire each person. This year was certainly no exception as we proudly presented our luncheon keynote speaker, Geena Davis, Academy Award® winning actress (Thelma and Louise), television series star (Commander in Chief), and long-time champion of girls’ and womens’ issues. We kicked off our morning session, with anotherdynamic, inspiring individual, Dr. Lois Lee, the nationally-known child protection activist who has received stellar recognition for her work rescuing America’s children from the ravages of street prostitution. Dr. Lee was depicted on the CBS television movie Children of the Night. In addition to these two remarkable ladies, we will feature an amazing group of top-flight workshop speakers whose sessions will provide you with insights on such subjects as Interior Redesign on a Dime, overcoming the fear of public speaking, surviving being a part of the "sandwich generation," preventing a heart attack, going "green," aging gracefully, and more.
A total of 1900 women attended each program first in Lousville KY and then in Lexington KY. Each workshop offered a variety of information and were presented by such dynamic speakers as Dana Dickey, an Interior Decorator and owner of Inside Redesign, Cadiz Ky; Retta Shealey, Zina Sy, Tootsie Nelson, Charlotte Libov, Diane MacEachem, Sally Chopping, Sue Cunningham, Dr. Lois Lee and Hattie. This amazing group of top-flight workshop speakers gave participants new ways to change their lives, eat healthier, decorate their space, protect themselves and much more.
